As you may or may not know when Erica was celebrating her first week of life she was back in the hospital. She had lost 13% of her birth weight and was extremely dehydrated. She handled it like a trooper and didn't fuss at all when the nurses stuck her 5 times in order to find a good vein to start an IV. The only part she hated was when they tied the rubber tourniquet around her little arm. Thankfully after receiving the IV fluids overnight we were able to return home.
The next week Daddy had to return to work and it was a little rough on mommy, but we made it through. The following Sunday was Chip's first Father's Day and we were so excited to get to spend the day with our fathers. Erica is such a Daddy's girl, and more often than not you will find them together when he is at home. As predicted she has Chip wrapped around her little finger. Erica loves her play mat and will spend several minutes at a time kicking her feet and playing with her rattle. She is beginning to focus on her toys, but she loves looking at her family the best. Her other favorite activity is going for walks with Mommy and Daddy. We are so in love with her! Can you tell?
This week it was back to the doctor to have her one month check-up and back to Children's Hospital for an ultrasound to rule out hip dysplasia. Her check-up went very well... she has grown! Erica now weighs 9lbs 13oz and is 22 inches long. The ultrasound also went very well, and the radiologist said he saw no issues with her hips. Thank you God!
